Thought Journals are used to identify cognitive distortions, with the intention of having you challenge and change your negative thoughts. The goal is for you to use this tool with a cadence that enables natural thought patterns to change.
Using the Thought Journal, you identify situations that cause you anxiety, identify the anxious automatic thoughts that feed that anxiety, categorize those thoughts in order to better understand where they’re coming from. Then you challenge those thoughts by identifying evidence for or against. You can complete a Thought Journal entry any time you are feeling anxious.
Note
Completing Session 2 unlocks the 3-Step Thought Journal Tool. Completing Session 3 unlocks the full 4-Step Thought Journal Tool.
